Advanced Class

  • Registration Deposit $50 - As there is limited seating, Mrs. Luiz will contact you to pay the deposit after receiving your registration form.

  • Fee: $800/yr - 28 weeks (May be paid in two installments, $400 in August and $400 in January)

Descritpion

Students tackle the standard in academic writing: the essay.  The instructor will break down the elements of the essay from concise thesis statements and strong supporting paragraphs to engaging introductions and memorable conclusions. 

Students will practice their new skills with a variety of essay forms:

expository, descriptive, persuasive, comparison, response to literature, and research.  

Class includes SAT vocabulary and a grammar component.  

Students receive personalized feedback on their writing.
